SYNPOSIS
A sharp and timely political drama inspired by real people and events, N/A is a battle of wills and wits between two formidable Congresswomen: “N,” the first woman Speaker of the House, and “A,” the youngest woman ever elected to Congress.
Written by playwright and screenwriter Mario Correa (Dark Waters), N/A stars Emmy winner and Tony nominee Holland Taylor as “N” and Theatre World Award winner and Drama League nominee Ana Villafañe as “A,” both in widely celebrated performances. The world premiere Lincoln Center production was directed for the stage by Tony winner Diane Paulus and lead produced by Tony winner Jeffrey Richards.
The film of N/A was produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker Donna Zaccaro, whose directorial credits include the acclaimed documentaries To a More Perfect Union: U.S. v. Windsor (PBS), and Geraldine Ferraro: Paving the Way (Showtime and PBS), a portrait of Zaccaro’s mother, the first woman nominated for Vice President by a major American political party. Shot with four dynamic cameras on August 28, 2024, N/A was edited by Kurt Engfehr, best known for the Academy Award-winning Bowling for Columbine.

Donna Zaccaro (Director & Producer)
DONNA ZACCARO is the director and producer of N/A. She is a documentary filmmaker and the founder and president of Ferrodonna Features, a nonprofit production company with a mission of producing films about women, women’s issues and social justice. Zaccaro’s critically acclaimed, award-winning documentary work includes serving as Director and Producer of Geraldine Ferraro: Paving the Way, and To A More Perfect Union: U.S. v. Windsor. Her films have been broadcast and streamed on platforms including Showtime, Apple TV, Amazon Prime and public television. She was previously a longtime, award-winning producer for the Today show at NBC News, having also worked in other industries including politics, public affairs marketing and communications, and beginning her career in investment banking.
Though best known for her documentary film work, Zaccaro — daughter of the trailblazing Congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro, the 1984 Democratic nominee for Vice President and the first woman ever nominated on a major party national ticket — was compelled to capture N/A for the screen after seeing the original production and recognizing its importance and relevance to contemporary conversations around women and power. Late in the show’s run, after learning that no plans existed for the play to be filmed, she moved quickly to bring the production to the screen—ensuring its accessibility for national and educational audiences at a time when stories about women in politics – and discourse – are more vital than ever.
